Author: Donald Miller is very open with his readers. He writes about Christianity and spirituality. When he published "Blue Like Jazz" he became a New York Times Bestselling Author. He is now a best selling author and speaker based in Nashville, Tennessee.
Book: This book is very easy to read and understand. Don does not drag his ideas on or make them boring. He keeps them short and to the point. He shows that he trusts his readers by being very open with them, which also makes the book more relatable and overall more interesting. Don also makes the book more interesting with stories from his experiences in his life, and how they have changed him, and what he has learned from them.
Evaluation: Blue Like Jazz is very easy to discuss, and can also make conversations more interesting because of how relatable the book can be to the people you are discussing it with. It is also easy to relate bible verses to a lot of the points that he makes.

Author: Donald Miller is a very relatable author. You can imagine yourself in his shoes often. He is a pretty simplistic guy. His writings are easy to read, yet filled with deep thought. He is very relatable in that he struggles with many of the same problems that most people face.

Book: This book is good because it gives you an insight as to what non- religious people think of Christianity. It's not your typical Christian book that only talks about the positives, instead it questions and challenges Christianity. It does a really good job of showing why some people are hesitant to be Christians and or talk to Christians.
This book also does a good job of showing that Christianity is not about being just like every other Christian. You are allowed to have your own questions and opinions.

Evaluate: This a good book to have a discussion with. It is filled with opinions that either you can agree with, or disagree with. Which makes for interesting conversation because of the differing opinions.

Author: Donald Miller is a writer and public speaker based out of Portland, Oregon. His writing style is very blunt and gets the point across, which is very easy to understand, yet also forces you to think about the topic a bit.

Book: This book is not just your average religious book. Instead of giving you a feel-good safe book, he instead reflects on all of the parts of his life that helped him grow in his relationship with God, may those parts be good or bad. Every chapter he writes covers a different topic, and is very straightforward and gets right to the point.

Evaluations/Relevance: Because Donald Miller gives such strong opinions, he forces you to think and decide if you agree or create an argument, and this creates great topics to discuss in group discussions and PCRs. He gave a lot of examples from his life that I could relate to and that I can see others relating to as well. I was able to learn a lot based on how he dealt with the problems he discusses.

Author: Donald Miller is a writer who usually gets his written pieces printed in christian articles. Donald writes this book to talk about relatable struggles that all christians go through.
  • His style of writing is all about different experiences he has had with other people, sharing some struggles he has had in his christianity and some useful advice on how to act towards certain scenarios.
Book: The book talks about different topics that christians often have questions about or struggles with. It talks about bringing other people to christ, and it talk about other topics like love, money, work, community and other things that are suppose to be important to christians, but are regularly overlooked. Don talks about different experiences where he learned things about christianity, God, himself and others which makes the book very relatable and gives you something to think about. Each chapter focuses on a certain topic - such as love, community, loving yourself etc. This helps you to focus on the one subject and help you channel your thoughts and not be confused.
  • Evaluation/Relevance: I think this book would have been good for group discussion, except I was in a group where everyone only had read up to page 30, so I never got to experience a good group discussion for this book, which was disappointing because I really loved this book. Since i did the prep work and read the book I found the PCRs very easy to write about, and actually enjoyed writing it.
      • things he talked about I never really have thought about, so it was eye opening and gave me a lot to think about.
      • I think I did learn from this book. The one thing that stands out to me when I think back to this book was the chapter that talks about money and how we should tithe. I have never thought about tithing as a spiritual thing, but Don makes it sound like it is, which was very interesting to me.

Author: Donald Miller is a writer that usually gets published in Christian article. Writes to relate to others in struggles and beliefs.
His style is full of different stories and experiences throughout his life, and how his beliefs continued and struggled through those moments. He talks in his own voice in this book, which makes this book so much more relatable.

Book: The book talks about a lot of big ideas on how Christianity and faith are still relevant and important to our modern culture. Talks about love and life, redemption and different ways that his life related to those points. It talked about the different struggles that Christians can go through and how is overcoming them or continually still struggling.
Each chapter is long and very full of ideas and stories. But they are all connected to the individual topic of the chapter. Each chapter has a specific idea and then is elaborated throughout the chapter and he continues to personally reflect  the points.

Evaluation/Relevance: This book what easily relatable and was very nice to write about. Good for discussions and PCRs because you could reflect and ask question and talk about how it answered some question of your own.
A lot of the the points that Don talked about seemed to relate to my life and kind of opened my eyes to show me that I wasn't the only one struggling. He makes t relatable and makes it personal.
Yes, I learned a lot about this book. About how money doesn't define you, about confession and and love.
I was able to connect the things Don talked about to my life because many of the things he talked about were really relatable and I agreed with a lot of things he talked about. Some
